- Facelifts aren’t always possible. If your site is built on old web standards, it may not be possible to give it a “facelift.” It’s better for the usability of your site—not to mention its security—to upgrade it to the latest standards.
- Usability is key. You and your team will be the ones responsible for the daily upkeep of your site, such as adding new blog posts and introducing new products. The design of your site is important, but so is the back-end functionality.
- Experts are experts for a reason. In most cases, it’s better to trust the experts. Designers and developers with years of experience have built their careers on creating effective, functional websites. Listen to their advice, and be sure to ask lots of questions.
- Good things take time. It’s possible to accelerate design and development if you’re truly in a rush, but it’s not ideal. Good things take time—at least 6 to 8 weeks of time for a basic website.
