Conversions are the final gateway between ordinary traffic and paying customers—so why aren’t you seeing more?
You need conversions if you’re going to stay alive in online marketing. Without them, you won’t get any purchases or signups, and all the web traffic you’ve earned through other channels will be essentially useless. But if you aren’t seeing any conversions, or if you’re only getting a trickle, it can be hard to diagnose the problem.
In all likelihood, your issue stems from one of these five factors:
No Calls to Action
If you aren’t calling your users to action, they won’t take action. Make sure you have plenty of conversion opportunities throughout your site.
Not Enough Value
All conversions are an exchange of value. You’ll offer a product in exchange for money, or a free offer or information in exchange for personal data. If your offer isn’t strong enough to warrant a submission, you won’t earn any conversions.
Difficulty Converting
How hard is it to complete your form? How long does it take? If it’s too hard or too frustrating to complete the conversion process, nobody will want to go through with it. Users are impatient and you need to cater to that.
Insufficient Trust
How can users trust you? Listing your credentials as an organization, including reviews and testimonials, and showcasing trust badges can all help you in this department.
Unfavorable Impulses
If someone gets a “bad vibe” from your site, they’ll leave. These aren’t always easy to predict or control, but they’re real, and they can influence your visitors’ behavior.
If you can correct these five issues, you’ll be well on your way to seeing more conversions. It may not happen overnight, and you may not have a perfect rate, but you’ll at least establish a strong foundation on which to build your empire.
