When you’re ready to start building traffic, you’ll need these five important site features.

Once your business is up and running (or once you’ve built a structural framework for your website), you’ll be ready to generate traffic. But before you start paying for advertising or investing in a long-term strategy like SEO or content marketing, there are some things you’ll need to have in place.

  1. A call-to-action. Before you have people flooding to your site, you’ll want some way to convert those visitors. A call-to-action will funnel your users to take some meaningful action, whether that’s downloading a video, buying a product, or simply filling out a contact form.
  2. Ample onsite content. You’ll also want to include ample amounts of content onsite; this will help your visitors feel more comfortable and acquainted with your brand, and will encourage repeat traffic if you provide enough value.
  3. A short-term strategy. Instead of improvising, rely on market and competitive research to come up with a short-term strategy for generating traffic immediately. PPC ads are usually a good bet here, but as long as you choose a marketing channel that can help you build momentum early, you’ll be in good shape.
  4. A long-term strategy. You’ll also want a complementary strategy that starts off slow and grows exponentially over time, such as content marketing or SEO. You’ll need to plan far ahead for these types of strategies to work.
  5. Cohesion between departments. You’ll also want to make sure all your departments are working together to keep your website up-to-date, your brand voice consistent, and all your online strategies aligned with a singular vision.

Once you have these five important features in place, you’ll be ready to turn those ads on and funnel traffic to your site. If you need help getting started, make sure to contact Quez Media today!
