Most marketing mistakes are fixable if they are caught early and corrected with the right timing, but not all mistakes are so easily undone.
Marketing mistakes are common, even for the most qualified professionals in the field. All it takes is a momentary lapse in judgment, a forgotten detail, or a typo to cause a campaign to tank. Nevertheless, most mistakes can be fixed as long as they’re caught in time and corrected properly.
There are some mistakes that unfortunately cannot be undone. All you can do after making these mistakes is react to them calmly, make up for what you can, and prevent them from happening in the future. That being said, be sure to avoid making these mistakes as much as possible:
·        Failing to track your data. If you failed to set up tracking for your marketing campaign when it’s already in motion, there’s not much you can do. Even Google Analytics can’t show you information backdated before you had their tracking code installed.
·        Making a typo on a mailed piece. There’s no way to go to your customers’ houses and correct each piece manually. You can send out a follow-up as a correction, but the cost is ridiculous and people will have already formed a first impression. Proofread many times before printing anything.
·        Making an inappropriate post on social media. You’ve seen social media mistakes tear companies apart. Don’t let it happen to you. All it takes is one poorly timed post to make you appear foolish or unprofessional. The delete button can only do so much.
