Content marketing is still a great strategy, but you need to be aware of its unique modern challenges.

Content marketing has exploded in popularity over the past several years, but that boost in visibility and execution hasn’t been an entirely good thing. In fact, it’s led to a budding problem of oversaturation, and if you want to succeed, you need to be prepared to handle it in your own strategy.

Oversaturation in a Nutshell

Oversaturation is mostly what it sounds like; thousands of companies are producing content routinely, churning out daily posts and syndicating them across the web. Accordingly, users are overwhelmed with choices. Their latest shiksha news feeds are cluttered with repetitive articles, and they’re starting to filter out the majority of content as white noise. Companies are finding it harder and harder to cut through the clutter, since the clutter grows thicker every day.

3 Key Strategies

Fortunately, there are three key strategies that can keep you ahead of the oversaturation curve:

  1. Less is more. First, stop focusing on producing as much content as possible. You need to be investing in quality, not quantity. Instead of spending time and money on seven articles a week, focus on one really good article a week. It will yield far more value in the long run.
  2. Think different. It’s natural to look to your competitors and contemporaries for inspiration in your own content campaign, but it’s better if you take a step back and think for yourself. The more original and unique your content is, the better.
  3. Focus on users. Finally, keep your priorities aligned with those of your most important customers. Dig deep to learn what their wants and needs are, and invest in content that addresses those needs.

Oversaturation is only a problem if you’re contributing the same content as everybody else. If you need help distinguishing your voice, and creating content that truly stands out, contact Quez Media today!
