If you have an SEO campaign, you’re probably writing onsite articles and posting backlinks on a regular basis, but you might be forgetting these five little SEO tricks.
Search engine optimization (SEO) is still one of the best ways to generate traffic to your site, and with the sheer volume of competition on the web, it’s become an almost essential feature in any marketing strategy. By now, you probably understand that your SEO rank for a given keyword is based in part on the authority of your site, which is based on backlinks pointing toward your domain, as well as that keyword’s prevalence on your site and related materials.
You probably have a firm grip on the basics required to improve your rank, but you might be missing these five subtle tricks:
1. Long-tail titles. Long-tail keywords are extended, seldom used keyword phrases that have low search volume, but very low competition, making them easy to rank for. Use long-tail keywords in your titles, such as “Easy to Implement SEO Tricks” instead of basic keywords like “SEO tricks.”
2. Tagged images. It’s a best practice to include an image with each of your blog posts, but don’t forget to change its alt tags! Include a relevant keyword phrase in the alt tags to increase the relevance of the article.
3. Link syndication. Don’t let your content sink to the bottom of your blog page. Instead, syndicate it regularly by keeping a long list of all your posts and rotating it across Facebook and Twitter.
4. Use a real author. Attribute your article to a real person with a biography on your site. It will help your domain authority, and if you use Google+, you can feature a headshot of the author in the search results.
5. Keep a quality design. Get rid of all the clutter in your site and keep any ads away from the main parts of the page. Changing the design can have a major impact on the domain authority of your site.
