There are there main approaches to search engine optimization, but only one is a best fit for your business.
SEO is a multifaceted strategy, incorporating countless different peripheral strategies (like content marketing, social media marketing, and guest posting) to produce one main result: higher ranks in search engines and greater web traffic. And even though SEO is known by one collective term and is often seen as only one strategy, there are actually three main approaches that you can take to the process, and each one has its own advantages and disadvantages:
1.      Slow and Safe. The first approach is all about effective long-term strategies that guarantee solid growth over time, but don’t have an immediate impact on results. Typically relying on high-quality content generation and the formation of only the highest quality relationships, this strategy has a minimal cost and minimal risk, but won’t start showing results until several months into the campaign.
2.      Fast and Risky. The second approach is the polar opposite. It’s all about getting results as fast as possible, with little regard for any other considerations. Typically relying on fast content publication, relationship building with anyone who will accept you, and link building, this strategy has a higher cost and a higher risk, but will also net you some instant results to get traffic moving to your site.
3.      Hybrid. The hybrid approach is the best option for most companies, because it utilizes elements from each approach. Combining short-term and long-term strategies, the cost is middle-of-the-road, the risk is moderate but reasonable, and the results start quickly and scale up over time.
Think carefully before choosing your ideal approach. There isn’t one approach that’s better than the others, but your business may have special needs or particular goals that make one strategy a much better fit.
